Leisure Time that spent for male and female in year of 1998-1999

The table shows how different people in different employment groups spend their leisure time. IT can be clearly seen that the amount of leisure time available varies considerable across employment. According to the figures, females on the average have less leisure time then males.

Even with retired and unemployed group the female has less leisure time than male. This is mainly due to the fact that females manage a home or have other duties to attend to. With the employed full time again it is the male who have more leisure time.

I guess people of all ages spend a good part of their leisure time on entertainment such as TV/video viewing and cinema. In both the retired and unemployed they have twice the time as the part time/ full time working people and the housewives.

In conclusion we can see there is a significant trend towards older people and that unemployed people spend a lot of more time on leisure than those of working age do.

Amount of leisure time enjoyed by men and women of different employment status

A researched had been carried out through year 1998 until 1999 to identify the average amount of leisure time enjoyed by both gender of different employment status and tracing the possible factors for those findings. Both unemployed and retired couple with the average ages of 55 years old and above, shared the equal highest amount of leisure time which is between 70 to 80 hours a week because of their maximum free time to spent with their families and friends or working on their hobbies at best. Housewives enjoyed about 50 hours of leisure time a week because most of their time priority is at home and only need few hours a day to prepare all the family needs before having rest. For part time employed, only female been surveyed, maybe because males mostly should be full employed to support their families unlike female that can spent about 40 hours for their own maybe because they still live with their family and go for part time jobs to increase self income and gain experienced .Lastly, for both full time genders that spent between 37 to 48 hours a week because of time limitation and working hours priorities with additional reason for females that choose becoming housewives after married.
